I've been a fan of Gal Barkan for quite a few years. I was really excited to learn he has launched his own NFT collection - I had to "ape in".
Having joined their Discord server, I realised there was an art competition ongoing. Gal would personally review the entries and pick a winner. It was time to fire up 3DsMax again!
If I was to win - it had to be different.
My idea was to create a scene showing how a galaxy egg would look like if abandoned for a long time. You can see my process in the video below:
The final result was an eerie dark scene of an abandoned egg, with a homeless person using it as shelter:
Most of the admissions to the competition were amazing. Gal's project managed to attract many other 3D Artist, who were equally, if not more talented. I was, therefore, very surprised that... I WON!
It appears that my approach of taking a different take on it has paid out.
The price was an NFT: a galaxy egg of course!
